Coping with personal stress

Written by Aaron Dennis, September 2, 2018

The Public Inquiry has, for many people, brought back difficult memories.  It is perfectly normal for you to find this stressful.  It can be helpful to express these feelings with people you trust and help you manage more in the longer term.

However, if you feel your emotions are not returning and you are still experiencing tension, confusion, emptiness or exhaustion you may need help.

The Inquiry Team have announced they are extending the confidential support service offered by the British Red Cross to anyone affected by treatment with infected blood and blood products.  The service will close temporarily on 15 October but then re-open on 2 November and be available until April 2019.

To access the support  call 0800 458 9473 or 0203 417 0280 on Monday between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.; Wednesday between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.; and Friday between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.  There is also a messaging system to receive a call back during these hours.
