The Inquiry Memorial

The Infected Blood Inquiry has its own memorial, which grew as the inquiry progressed.

Designed by Art Lewry, the memorial mimics a laboratory specimen holder, beautifully lit in purple. Inside each specimen jar is a message to a loved one written by someone infected or affected by the contaminated blood scandal.

Originally created by people attending the commemoration at the start of the preliminary hearings in September 2018, the inquiry memorial has been redesigned so that every contribution can be displayed.

The memorial was on display at the Infected Blood Inquiry until hearings finished in February 2023. We await information about where the memorial will be permanently housed.
