Lisa Steadman

HAH Patient Forum Representative

Lisa is a carrier of haemophilia A and has a 13-year old daughter and a 15-year old son with severe haemophilia and inhibitors. With a known family history, haemophilia has always been part of her life. She has witnessed the huge changes in the care and treatment available to patients over the years and is grateful for all the expertise available nowadays in caring for her son.

Lisa works as researcher and has recently been working as part of the Haemnet team on a number of research studies exploring the lived experience of patients living with a bleeding disorder. With her own family experience, Lisa is keen to do what she can to help improve the lives of those living with a bleeding disorder in the UK.

In addition to this work, Lisa is involved in Local families with bleeding disorders, a charity based in London that offers support for families, by families living with bleeding disorders in London, the Home Counties and beyond. She strongly believes in the power of community and through the charity, offers support for other families by bringing them together to share experiences and expertise and support one another in the day-to-day challenges we face as patients and parents.
