Peta Dixon

Youth Ambassador

Hi, I’m Peta and I have a mild unclassified bleeding disorder. I was diagnosed at 18, in some ways relieved to have answers to years of bruising and bleeding, but also determined to not let my diagnosis become a barrier to hobbies and sports.

I’m a recent graduate of the University of Bath in International Development with Economics and am hugely passionate about sports. Continuing to surf, snowboard and play hockey among other things was a challenge, but I’m determined to demonstrate that my diagnosis is not a disability. My proudest sporting achievement was taking part in the 125-mile Devizes to Westminster kayak race in 2018 to fundraise for the Haemophilia Society. This is a key area of focus for me, and I’m looking forward to continuing to raise awareness about bleeding disorders and sports, while supporting those newly diagnosed who might be nervous about what the future holds.

I look forward to meeting more members, families and friends at upcoming events.
