Stepping up for Race Around the World

Written by Aaron Dennis, March 10, 2023

Members of the Lincolnshire and East Midlands local group are setting the pace when it comes to raising money for our fundraising challenge Race Around the World. Their team, named ‘The Sherwooders’ already has 12 members signed up and they’re determined to smash last year’s fantastic tally of 1,200 miles.

Val Watson, Secretary of Lincolnshire and East Midlands local group, said: ‘Race Around the World is a great incentive to do a bit more exercise with the added bonus of raising much-needed funds. We enjoy the chance to get together and we’ve got some group walks planned too which makes it very sociable.’

Race Around the World is a virtual trip around the globe to raise awareness and money to make a positive difference to people affected by genetic bleeding disorders. Our goal is to cover 38,100 miles in just under 60 days, starting on 17 February and finishing on 17 April, which is World Haemophilia Day. Any activity counts whether its dancing, yoga, tennis, swimming, cycling – it’s up to you!

The Lincolnshire and East Midlands group has organised group walks in the region on 11 March and 1 April to raise money for Race Around the World. If you’d like to take part or find out more, email Val at [email protected].

If you’d like to organise your own Race Around the World team or would like more information about how to get started, contact Lina at [email protected].
